professional interests

My professional career has been dedicated to helping meet the mental health needs of adults with learning disabilities.  I have tried to achieve this through three main areas:

  • Giving people with learning disabilities a platform to be heard

  • The development of quality services for people with learning disabilities and mental health problems

  • Training those who support people with learning disabilities and mental health problems

  • Ensuring that people with learning disabilities who use mental health services are listened to

In 2004 I was successful in becoming an elected member of the Royal College of Nursing National Learning Disability Forum. Term ended in 2009.
